Six Senses Crans-Montana: the new wellness gem in the Swiss Alps

The ultra-desirable, sustainable hotel group Six Senses opens its first hotel in Switzerland and invites guests on a high-altitude journey. With ski-in/ski-out access and 2,000 m² of wellness facilities, the hotel’s indisputable assets are enough to make the competition flinch. 47 rooms and suites, two restaurants, a bar, three swimming pools, an open-air cinema, a gym, an aerial yoga studio…We offer you a stay where wellness attitude rhymes with altitude .

Sophistication and relaxation in one of Switzerland’s most beautiful resorts

Six Senses has set its sights on Switzerland, making the Valais Alps an exceptional setting for this ambitious project. Destination Crans-Montana, a chic, sporty resort and one of the country’s most popular destinations for what promises to be the quintessence of luxury wellness.

Only 2 hours by car (or train) from Geneva. What makes Crans-Montana the location of choice? There’s no shortage of arguments, and Six Senses once again proves its formidable intuition: dazzling panoramic views of the Swiss Alps, unrivalled sunshine on the order of 300 days a year and exceptional air quality. The well-being dimension is integrated by nature.

Crans-Montana is a delight to behold in all seasons, revealing its charm in summer and winter alike: through its exceptional ski area, its superb hiking trails, the clear waters of its lakes and its fragrant coniferous forests. The resort is proving to be dynamic, hosting a number of renowned sporting events. It’s just as much for skiing fans as for golf enthusiasts: the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club (home of the Omega European Masters) is nearby.

A project that’s close to the top

Switzerland’s first Six Senses property is resolutely unique. The project includes a hotel offering and seventeen luxury residences with private parking, benefiting from the complex’s services and facilities at preferential rates.

The hotel offers 47 spacious rooms and suites, ranging from 45 to 110 m², with breathtaking panoramic views. The facility was designed by AW2 and Architecture by JP Emery & Partners. It’s right on the pistes, a ski in-ski out hotel with a minimalist, open feel. Consumers’ expectations were heard: the search for closeness to this fascinating natural world guided the project. You feel immersed in the mountains. The design blends in respectfully with its surroundings, and appears as a privileged vantage point with remarkable views.

A harmonious blend of authenticity and contemporary design

The ancestral Valais chalet is revisited in a contemporary, uncluttered version that perfectly blends authenticity, comfort and luxury.

True to form, Six Senses invites us on a journey, this time into the heart of the mountains, right up to the peaks, with light as the common thread. Alternating wood and opaque glass create a play of light that delineates spaces and the boundary between private and shared. The materials have been selected with the greatest care: stone and wood in homage to the majestic mountain, quartzite facades, brushed and textured antique bronze and thick natural leather, not forgetting warm natural textiles and fluffy carpets!

A 2,000 m² spa and three pools

This project is a real ecosystem in its own right. In addition to the suites and residences already mentioned, Six Senses Crans-Montana includes two restaurants, a bar, three swimming pools, an open-air cinema lounge, a gym and an aerial yoga studio. And let’s not forget the communal areas that open onto this majestic natural environment: the 8-metre-high alpine garden atrium – a veritable skylight, the south-facing solarium and the observation deck.

The essential components of the Six Senses identity are also present:

  • Earth Lab a living, educational showcase for the Group’s committed initiatives
  • Grow with Six Senses Grow with Six Senses: this program dedicated to children integrates all the dimensions of well-being so that they can consolidate their relationship with nature and with others. With playfulness and pedagogy, they are immersed in local cultures, well-being and sustainability, developing fundamental life skills. Along the way, new stamps are added to their Six Senses passport.
  • a 2,000 m² spa and wellness center, a showcase for Six Senses rituals and expertise.

Wellness and the Alpine touch

Wellness is one of the fundamental principles of Six Senses establishments, always at the origin of new, integrated and increasingly personalized concepts that respond to the challenges of sensoriality, beauty and health.

In this high-altitude setting, well-being resonates even more strongly: after hitting the slopes, pulsating to the rhythm of the various outdoor activities on offer, the body yearns to be regenerated, recharged, re-energized, because recovery is key.

This means 2,000 m² dedicated to post-exercise comfort. Six Senses’ approach to wellness is inspired by its unique local roots. The treatments and therapies at Six Senses Crans-Montana are therefore infused with an Alpine touch. Rituals mirror the natural world around them.

Spaces to reflect this major project

During your stay you’ll enjoy an indoor-outdoor pool, a rooftop pool, a sauna, a hammam, a salt grotto, whirlpools, a cold pool, a relaxation area, nine treatment rooms and a state-of-the-art gym.

In the lounge Biohack Recoveryand high-tech devices optimize the body’s natural recovery processes, including NormaTech compression sleeves, Hypervolt devices for percussion massage and Venom lumbar belts that amplify the soothing power of heat with vibrations to relieve tension in the lower back.

An avant-garde yet crucial proposal: the question of the well-being of children and teenagers has been taken into account with the design of a dedicated spa, with treatments specifically adapted to these targets often neglected by wellness institutions. Six Senses proves that wellness is ageless:“the sooner the better“.

Durability with style!

Sustainability is an issue designed to last, so how can we tame it and incorporate it into a sector in the throes of change? Six Senses is also a forerunner on this question of desirable sustainability and vice versa. Six Senses Crans-Montana is no exception to the rule: recycled, renewable and local materials have been favored. The designers also took energy, water and lighting consumption into account, without ever losing sight of the aesthetic dimension – a timeless Six Senses signature.

Your experience to compose

Six Senses offers a range of activities within the resort, and takes advantage of this unique location to help you design the stay you want: hyperactive, slow life, relaxation or discovery. You’re free to use your time as you wish: paddleboarding, wakeboarding, paragliding, horseback riding, mountain hiking, skiing (let’s not forget skiing in skiing out), excursions, cultural events…

A bold culinary signature

A few words about Six Senses Crans-Montana’s culinary identity and restaurant offerings. Two restaurants: Wild Cabin, an all-day brasserie with panoramic views from the large terrace. It offers classic Swiss cuisine with a twist, with a touch of originality – Six Senses oblige.

Next, Byakko and its Japanese influences, in reference to the mystical and mythical white tiger of the West. The menu has been designed around variations of sushi, fish, Hoba miso and grilled meats, to name just a few of the reinvented specialties. The Eat with Six Senses program will be available with healthy, personalized menus.

The journey doesn’t stop there: a bar will awaken your senses with adventurous creations, bold blends of exotic sakes and cocktails with aphrodisiac herbs. Live music performances will also be organized.
