Aman Le Mélézin: Skiing and wellness combine perfectly

Le Mélézin is the only French hotel in Aman Resorts, which is often considered the finest collection of hotels in the world. Located in Courchevel, it’s the ideal compromise for those wishing to enjoy a winter vacation in a Japanese atmosphere without leaving France! The hotel distinguishes itself from its local competitors through the quality of its wellness facilities.

The height of refinement in the heart of the Alps

Le Mélézin is located at the foot of the Courchevel slopes, so it’s aimed above all at ski and winter sports enthusiasts who want to enjoy the vast expanse of the Three Valleys. The famous French resort has no shortage of prestigious establishments. Where Aman particularly stands out is in its minimalist, uncluttered Japanese-inspired interior architecture and traditional Asian care.

Spread over 4 floors, Le Mélézin offers spectacular views of the Alps. The luxury hotel comprises 31 rooms and suites, designed by interior architect Ed Tuttle, the creator of the Aman style, here combined with the alpine spirit of a chalet. A subtle blend of genres. Some suites have their own private Norwegian bath on an outdoor terrace.

The hotel welcomes guests seeking refinement and a cosy atmosphere. Service is exceptional at Aman, and it seems that even the smallest wishes can be fulfilled.

Après-ski is particularly well catered for, with log fires in the lounge, a selection of books in the cosy library, a warm atmosphere in the bar and, of course, an exceptional spa.

A resolutely Zen wellness area

Proof of the Aman brand’s commitment to well-being, the wellness rooms occupy an entire floor of the establishment. The spa boasts five treatment rooms, a Thai massage room and a state-of-the-art fitness room with bikes and treadmills. These facilities are complemented by a wooden sauna, a hammam and a simply magnificent Japanese yoga room. In the basement, you’ll find a beautiful 14-meter-long swimming pool surrounded by two Jacuzzis.

Most treatments are inspired by Asian traditions, and therapists invite guests to practice meditation beforehand to get the most out of their massages. The Mélézin signature treatment, which combines lymphatic brushing, oil massage and nourishing facials, has been specially designed to relax the body after a long day on the slopes.

The icing on the cake: daily yoga sessions are offered in one-hour group classes, with posture sequences specially designed to relax the muscles of tired skiers, or to warm up before putting on the skis. Private lessons are also available.

Japanese gourmet cuisine, mostly healthy

Nama restaurant offers 100% Japanese cuisine in a simple, elegant mountain-chic setting. Dishes are served in beautiful Japanese ceramics.

Chef Keiji Matoba offers inspired creations, with dishes that awaken the senses. Of course, there’s a wide selection of sushi, sashimi and maki, but Japanese gourmet cuisine goes far beyond that.

Wagyu beef, fish, seafood…all dishes are adorned with floral arrangements and are as good as they are beautiful to look at.
