Our review: SIRO Dubai, the hotel entirely dedicated to fitness

SIRO is a new chain of urban hotels focused on fitness, well-being and biohacking. In these establishments, everything has been designed to meet the needs of sports enthusiasts. The very first SIRO has just opened in Dubai, before the brand spreads around the world with a hundred hotels planned in the coming years! That’s why Pascal Languillon, CEO of Luxe Wellness Club, went on site to investigate. The story of a totally energizing stay.

A new kind of fun & healthy hotel

SIRO occupies floors 30 to 36 of Dubai’s newest landmark, the One Za’abeel tower, which is also home to the magnificent One&Only One Za’abeel, which I also had the pleasure of testing, as well as 11 renowned restaurants. The idea behind this new hotel chain, developed by Kerzner (also owners of One&Only and Atlantis), is meeting the expectations of new generations a trendy urban hotel to reconcile business and fitness. The brand is based on five pillars of biohacking fitness, nutrition, recovery, sleep and mindfulness. That sounds just right for me!

As soon as I arrived, my first surprise: the hotel lobby was more reminiscent of a trendy coworking space than a luxury hotel. Coming from the very chic One&Only just above, the atmosphere is completely different. Here, you’ll find modular sofas, long tables for working with a laptop, and protein shakes to revitalize you after a workout at the Refuel bar… It’s actually quite fun!

Of course, guests have 24-hour access to the fitness rooms. There’s also a whole host of group classes (yoga, fitness, stretching, etc.) to sign up for. SIRO customers have access to the magnificent Tapasake Pool overlooking the skyline in the mornings from 6am to 10am. The pool is reserved for One&Only guests.

But don’t worry, there’s another pool at the bottom of the towers, the garden pool, which is also very pleasant, with a more tropical atmosphere. Service is worthy of One&Only, as the pool is shared between the two hotels: expect a pool bar and suncare products, with a team attentive to your every wish.

Rooms designed to promote sleep

132 rooms and 12 experiential suites are dedicated to fitness and recovery. At first glance, Siro’s minimalist rooms may seem almost simple, especially after a stay at the One&Only One Za’abeel just up the road. However*6 I can attest that I loved sleeping there. In fact, they have been designed to improve rest and recovery. The mattresses are of exceptional quality and thermoregulated, the sheets and comforters are breathable, and ceiling fans have been installed to prevent dry throats after a night in the air conditioning…

The rooms are also equipped with TVs where you can follow virtual TechnoGym classes, which enabled me to do a few extra exercises between appointments. In the closet, you’ll find elastic bands for weight training, a yoga mat and a meditation cushion! All designed with wellness and fitness in mind.

As if all that weren’t enough, what looks like a rocking chair is actually an anti-gravity chair, designed to help with spinal decompression. Finally, no mini-bar filled with alcohol and sweets: here you’ll find protein balls and coconut water! Even the bathroom has a zen feel, and the welcome products from English brand Proverb smell delicious, and they’re organic. The Japanese-style WC with heated seat is also worth a mention.

A bathtub lets you admire the city lights in the evening. It’s worth noting that three items of sportswear per day (per room) can be washed free of charge , which is very practical. I love this kind of initiative, which adds a real touch of service and luxury without costing the hotel a lot of money.

An urban fitness paradise

Let’s be clear: what impressed me most, as you’d expect with a concept like this, was the 1000 m² fitness room, which is huge (the largest I’ve seen to date) and even boasts a 25-meter-long internal treadmill. There’s every imaginable piece of state-of-the-art equipment, with Technogym and other industry-leading brands offering machines for strength training, cardio and cycling.

A group class in the Experience Box impressed me, with body sculpt and boxing. Strobe lights and big sound, with a sports coach screaming into the microphone. This course has been designed by the AC Milan professional soccer team, so expect an intensive workout! I don’t think I’ve ever sweated so much in an hour of sport…

I benefited from other private classes, including one with a very friendly high-level athlete, Germaine, who also pushed me to my limits, with exercises I’d never tried elsewhere.

You should know that SIRO also allows you to discover Dubai through “Destination Fitness” experiences, a selection of specific adventure activities in the desert or on the water…A few days in Dubai with SIRO really allows you to reconcile business and fitness, which I found particularly interesting.

Recovery Lab: treatments for sports enthusiasts that go beyond the traditional spa.

After the effort, the comfort! This is SIRO’s other pillar, helping you to recover from long journeys and sports sessions… Putting the body to rest is just as important as activating it 🙂

The Recovery Lab is more than just a luxury hotel spa. Of course, there’s also a hammam, sauna and treatment rooms. The difference: state-of-the-art treatments have been designed to facilitate muscle recovery and stretching. There’s muscle stimulation with electrodes, high-frequency treatments with INDIBA, physiotherapy, acupuncture… and, as is customary today, a cryotherapy room!

I absolutely adored the massage given to me by Sujan. It was a really intense treatment, which unknotted the muscles deep down. Half-massage, half-stretching, it felt like a particularly pleasant physiotherapy session, albeit with a few sore spots.

Another memorable treatment: a facial called the “skin workout”. More than a cosmetic treatment, it was a real muscular workout for the face, a kind of Kobido with its multiple pressure kneading, tapping and smoothing. Lifting effect guaranteed! I really felt my skin had been rejuvenated, my face contoured and plumped. Great.

Finally, I tested a Triple iDome session combining infrared technology with plasma and LED light, offering 3 ultra-efficient detox treatment methods in a single session. I found this experience really pleasant despite its slightly claustrophobic nature, with the sensation afterwards of having both improved the skin on my face and sweated all the toxins out of my body!

A varied catering offer

It’s a shame that SIRO doesn’t yet have its own restaurant. For the time being, customers are free to try one of The Link’s many restaurants, as described in our article “We tested One&Only One Za’abeel for you” . There’s plenty to choose from, and plenty of healthy options for those who want them. This gave me the opportunity to try some sumptuous healthy breakfasts, which I had to make up myself, although it takes a good dose of self-control not to be tempted by the sweets!

However, to get the full Siro experience, make an appointment with the hotel’s nutritionist, Heeral Shivnani, who can devise a meal plan for the duration of your stay, tailored to your specific needs, whether for muscle gain or fat loss. For those wishing to take advantage of the hotel’s fitness concept, there’s also a self-service dish machine. The menu indicates the number of calories for each dish.

Finally, the lobby houses a smoothie bar with an extensive range of powders, elixirs and collagens that can be added to an inventive range of juices and protein shakes . Enough to finish building muscle…

Our feeling

SIRO is the first hotel of a brand with a promising future. It allows you to combine a stay in Dubai with body care to stay in shape and recover gently. An urban fitness hotel that successfully combines luxury and well-being in a city known for its excesses.
