Maslina Resort: diving into a wellness bubble in Croatia

Opening in August 2020, Maslina Resort is a newcomer to the European wellness scene, and what a splashy entry it is! Located on the Croatian island of Hvar, with its exceptional cultural heritage and magnificent coves, the hotel’s chic natural design and ecological approach are immediately appealing. Go-go yoga, delicious massages and intelligently designed wellness programs: this is what awaits you at this generously luxurious venue. Luxe Wellness Club brings you this rare gem from its collection, undoubtedly our favorite hotel in Croatia.

A hotel nestled on a paradise island in the Adriatic Sea

Labelled Relais & Châteaux, this mindful refinement resort is a little gem. Here, luxury means respecting the environment, always with well-being in mind. The hotel is built from natural, local materials, and plastic and non-recyclable waste are banned.

The Maslina Resort borders Maslinica Bay on the Croatian island of Hvar, certainlyone of the most beautiful in the country. This territory is rich in history: it all began in 384 B.C. when the Greeks conquered the island, their first settlement in the Adriatic. Today, the island boasts six Unesco-listed historic sites – and that’s not all! Today, the island of Hvar skilfully blends tradition and modernity, which you can discover by visiting the local taverns or at the various music or aromatic festivals (including the lavender festival).

Located south of the Croatian coast, the island can be reached by public ferry, private speedboat or catamaran from the ports of Split (45 minutes by private motorboat) or Dubrovnik (3.5 hours). Both cities have international airports with good connections to Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon and Geneva.

Natural design in harmony with the landscape

The resort extends over two hectares of pine forest and blends perfectly into its natural surroundings. Its wood-clad facade is designed to blend into the landscape. All of the resort’s 53 accommodations offer wide-open views of the Adriatic Sea.

To match this luminous landscape, the interiors of the homes blend a variety of natural, traditional materials: island stone, light wood and terracotta. The comfort of the accommodation is enhanced by contemporary decorative touches. We also appreciate the spaciousness of the rooms (42 to 55 m²), all of which have their own terrace.

Suites range in size from 59 to 144 m². Finally, two four-bedroom villas each cover 300 m². Some suites are specially designed for families, with two or three bedrooms, while others have their own private pool .

The resort boasts two large pools: a shaded pool (a family favorite), and an infinity pool overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Here, you can lounge on deckchairs among the olive trees. The hotel’s pools are treated with ozone and contain no chlorine. Of course, the real star is the Mediterranean Sea, which is surprisingly unspoilt here.

The Maslina Resort offers a wide range of relaxation and entertainment facilities, including a library, cinema and multimedia room. Younger guests also have plenty to keep them entertained at the top-quality Kid’s Club, with a range of outdoor activities and a climbing wall. The Organic Beach Garden is the resort’s organic and aromatic vegetable garden, adjacent to the pebble beach. Bicycles are available free of charge for pedaling to the nearby town of Stari Grad.
