Dubai, the city of superlatives, recently saw the birth of a new hotel masterpiece: Atlantis The Royal. Located on the famous artificial island of Palm Jumeirah, this establishment pushes the boundaries of luxury and innovation. I had the privilege of staying there with my family, discovering a unique experience combining well-being, gastronomy and entertainment. A true plunge into the world of pure luxury, where every detail seems to have been designed to dazzle.
Atlantis The Royal, located on Dubai’s iconic Palm Jumeirah Island, is an architectural feat and an unrivalled luxury destination. Designed by renowned architects Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, this 43-storey hotel spans over 406,000 square metres, offering 795 rooms and suites, including 44 with private pools.
The hotel’s bold architecture features stacked blocks, creating a distinctive silhouette on Dubai’s coastline. This innovative design maximizes outdoor space, with private terraces, hanging gardens and panoramic views of the Persian Gulf and Dubai skyline.
Among the hotel’s many facilities are over 90 swimming pools, including the famous Cloud 22, an infinity pool located on the 22nd floor, offering breathtaking views of the city. The hotel is also home to 17 restaurants and bars, run by world-renowned chefs such as Heston Blumenthal and José Andrés.
As soon as we arrive, the tone is set: Atlantis The Royal is unlike any other hotel. Approaching the imposing structure from the Palm Jumeirah, you can immediately make out the stacked blocks that make up the hotel’s bold architecture. The silhouette stands out against the horizon, like a futuristic vertical city. The entrance is masterly: gigantic golden doors open onto a breathtaking lobby, where white marble mingles with modern sculptures. An immense crystal chandelier sparkles from the ceiling, casting a soft light that reflects off the immaculate floor.
The welcome is just like the place: spectacular. A team of impeccably uniformed hostesses guides us to the check-in counter, while a subtle perfume perfumes the air. We are invited to take a seat in a luxurious lounge, where the wait is made pleasant by a service of refreshments and fresh towels. Everything has been thought of to make this first impression a memorable one.
Once the formalities have been completed, a butler accompanies us to our room, introducing us to the hotel’s pharaonic facilities. As we make our way through the impressive corridors, we admire the incredible layout of the spaces: hanging gardens, indoor waterfalls and contemporary works of art follow one another. Luxury is expressed here in every nook and cranny, down to the smallest detail.
Exceptional accommodation for the whole family
Our stay began in a Deluxe room with an ocean view, equipped with two Queen beds. An ideal choice for a short family stay, offering both comfort and space. The decor, combining modernity and oriental touches, creates a soothing atmosphere from the moment you enter. The large picture windows offer a breathtaking view of the Persian Gulf, inviting contemplation. In the morning, the sun gently rises over the turquoise waters, illuminating the room with a golden light that invites you to prolong this moment of tranquility.
The hotel also boasts a private beach, where fine sand and turquoise waters invite you to relax. Concierge services are available to meet every need, from organizing a paddle session to simply soaking up the sun in peace and quiet.
Cloud 22: a swimming pool suspended above the world
Located on the 22nd floor, the Cloud 22 infinity pool is one of the hotel’s most emblematic features. Offering panoramic views of Dubai and the Persian Gulf, it is a must for lovers of luxury and relaxation. The adjacent bar offers a selection of refined cocktails, to be enjoyed from the comfort of one of the private cabanas.
Aquaventure Waterpark: a children’s paradise
Just a few steps from the hotel is Aquaventure Waterpark, the world’s largest water park with over 105 attractions. My children marveled at the giant slides, slow rivers and interactive play zones. We spent a memorable afternoon, alternating between thrills and moments of relaxation on the deckchairs by the water. Excitement was at its peak as we descended the “Leap of Faith”, a vertiginous slide that plunges through a transparent tunnel surrounded by sharks. My children’s laughter and cries of joy still echo in my memory.
Awaken Spa: a sanctuary of relaxation
Awaken Spa is a true haven of peace, offering a complete range of treatments inspired by traditions from around the world. The 17 treatment rooms, sensory hammam and meditation pavilion provide the ideal setting for rejuvenation. I particularly enjoyed the signature massage, which combines Eastern and Western techniques for deep relaxation. The décor is sumptuous: white marble, carved wood and subdued lighting create an atmosphere conducive to escape. After the treatment, I settled into the lounge with a cup of tea in hand, gazing out at the lush gardens from the picture windows.
For fitness enthusiasts, Atlantis The Royal boasts a state-of-the-art gym equipped with the latest technology. The swimming pool is dedicated to fitness, providing optimal conditions for swimming. Yoga and meditation classes are also available, promoting balance between body and mind. I had the opportunity to attend a morning yoga class on the terrace overlooking the ocean. The gentle sea breeze and panoramic view of the Palm added an almost meditative dimension to the experience.
AEON Clinic: regenerative medicine for well-being
At the heart of the hotel is the AEON Clinic, a medicalized wellness center pioneering regenerative medicine in Dubai. Here I had the opportunity to enjoy a personalized experience, starting with an in-depth consultation with specialists in functional medicine. I was offered a complete check-up, with advanced tests to detect imbalances and deficiencies.
I was particularly impressed by the professionalism of the teams, who took the time to explain each step. The treatments on offer, such as stem cell therapy and NAD+-enriched intravenous infusions, aim to revitalize the body in depth.
This holistic approach has given me renewed energy and lasting well-being.
Gastronomy for every palate
The Gastronomy restaurant offers a breakfast worthy of the finest palaces. With 17 live cooking stations and over 100 dishes on offer, every morning is a culinary adventure.
From freshly baked pastries to Asian specialties and fruit juices squeezed on demand, everything is designed to satisfy the most demanding palates. I enjoyed trying out different stalls each morning: one day fluffy pancakes topped with red fruit, the next an assortment of dim sum prepared before our very eyes.
For dinner, we also had the opportunity to discover the Greek restaurant, a true tribute to Mediterranean gastronomy. The atmosphere is warm, reminiscent of traditional taverns with a contemporary twist. Dishes are generous, fragrant and prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We enjoyed an assortment of mezze, followed by perfectly seasoned grilled fish and crisp vegetables. The meal ended on a sweet note with a crisp, melt-in-the-mouth baklava. A true taste escape in the heart of Dubai.

Atlantis The Royal is much more than a hotel: it’s a destination in its own right, where every detail is designed to deliver an unforgettable experience.
