A unique paradise destination

As is often the case in the Maldives, Six Senses Laamu is the only hotel on Laamu Atoll. From Malé’s international airport, a short flight and boat trip will start your 100% exotic holiday. Once you’ve arrived, all this pure beauty will fill you with serenity: white sand, turquoise water and luxury cabins on stilts… The picture of an absolute dream for most of us!

As always with Six Senses, we take the environmental quality of our accommodations seriously. Eco-friendly materials have been carefully selected to harmonize with the archipelago’s natural surroundings. As part of its commitment to sustainable development, Six Senses is committed to sourcing local, responsible products.

Turquoise water as far as the eye can see

Privacy is the order of the day at the resort, so you can watch the turquoise waters as far as the eye can see in complete tranquillity. Very spacious, villas range in size from 108 to 730 m². As if the lagoon weren’t enough, you can also choose a villa with a private pool.

Everything has been carefully thought out to promote relaxation. Villas are open to nature and decorated with traditional elements in natural colors. Organic cotton lingerie, hand-crafted mattresses and temperature-regulating pillows are the fruit of the Sleep With Six Senses program, which cares about your sleep.

For families, the choice is the 253 m² Family Villa with Pool, specially designed for two adults and two children. In our opinion, the ultimate is one of the “Lagoon Water Villas”, perched on stilts and allowing you to dive directly into the lagoon from the terrace…

Wellness cocoons with Ayurvedic treatments

With its nine “wellness nests”, the very special Maldivian-style treatment cabins, the Six Senses Spa puts the well-being of its guests at the top of the scale. It’s in the heart of these little cocoons nestled in the flamboyant nature that you can enjoy treatments and massages in communion with nature. Plant extracts and crystals are the faithful allies of spa practitioners. Modern techniques and state-of-the-art technological equipment are combined with age-old methods. Ayurveda forms the basis of many of the treatments on the spa’s menu.

A hammam, a manicure and pedicure area, and a superb relaxation zone with a juice bar are also available. Of course, the resort has a fitness center, and for lovers of gentle techniques, yoga, meditation and breathing classes are held at the rooftop yoga studio.

Restore harmony with wellness programs

A consultation room enables you to meet the hotel’s wellness experts, who can analyze your needs and offer advice, particularly on nutrition. . Each personalized wellness program begins with a “wellness screening” and biomarker assessment. To do this, the team uses a finger oximeter to observe heart rate, tissue oxygen uptake and distribution, arterial stiffness and stress parameters. Bioelectrical impedance analysis is used to estimate body composition. Finally, several elements are analyzed, such as the way your body moves, its strengths and weaknesses.

There are four wellness programs to choose from: Detox, Fitness, Sleep and Yoga as the main element. These programs can be customized over three, five, seven or ten days. They all include several spa treatments, exercises and a wellness consultation. Take, for example, the program to harmonize your sleep. It will include ayurvedic and holistic massages, meditation and breath-work sessions, as well as several yoga sessions. Your sleep will also be analyzed throughout your stay, and you’ll receive nutritional advice.

At the end of the stay, each client receives a post-program follow-up consultation during which Six Senses wellness experts provide tips and tools on how to continue and maintain a healthy lifestyle at home.

Grow With Six Senses is the hotel group’s initiative to introduce younger guests to the benefits of wellness treatments. A menu of seven different treatments is specially designed for your little ones. You also have the opportunity to share a moment of well-being with your child. Also note that The Den, a free club for 3-11 year olds, organizes activities to keep the kids entertained all day long.

Snorkelling in perfect water (Photo: Six Senses)

When it comes to the activities on offer, there’s no surprise: they’re mostly aquatic! If you’re afraid of too much snorkeling, the hotel organizes boat trips to meet the dolphins or go surfing on the best waves in the Maldives, at Yin Yang Surf. Evenings are not forgotten, and romantic dinners or movie nights can be organized on the beach in a minimalist tropical style, with your feet in the fine sand…

Healthy, varied menus

You can enjoy all kinds of cuisine with your feet in the sand. Japanese dishes revisited at the Zen restaurant, Vietnamese specialties to sample or a spicy menu at the Chili Table, there’s something for everyone. Variety, yes, but always using fresh produce and paying attention to thecarbon footprint. One of the pillars of Six Senses is to offer a luxury experience while respecting the environment. The resort also has its own organic vegetable garden.

Not only is the cuisine refined and well-balanced, but the décor is breathtaking. To start the day, Longitude is the ideal place to enjoy breakfast in front of the sunrise. In the evening, this stilted restaurant serves international dishes, with different cuisines featured throughout the week.

And for the ultimate in romance, the chef will be delighted to prepare a dinner especially for you, served in privacy on the beach by lantern light.

Innovative cocktails, exotic fruit juices and homemade ice creams are also on the menu… To top it all off, an “Ice & Chocolate Studio” delights all gourmands. And if you’re strangely homesick for Europe, you can enjoy a wine tasting at the Altitude Wine Cellar, with its 420 bottles of wine!
