Fontsanta Thermal Spa & Wellness: Calm and serenity on Mallorca

A beautiful atmosphere of serenity reigns at the Fontsanta hotel, a resolutely wellness resort where you can enjoy the only thermal spring in the Balearic Islands. This 5-star hotel is located near Es Trenc, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean, with VIP access. Here’s an address we recommend for a wellness getaway to the Balearics, either solo or with your better half!

The Fontsanta estate has taken advantage of the Balearic Islands’ only thermal spring to create a space dedicated to well-being, with spa and beauty programs. The hotel is set in a rejuvenating environment, bordering the Es Salobrar salt flats, in the south-east of Majorca, in the protected natural area of Es Trenc.

Isolated from the hustle and bustle of the island’s tourist industry, it’s the ideal place to take a breather and indulge in a few moments of relaxation. Just a few minutes’ drive away is one of the island’s most beautiful beaches, Es Trenc, with its 4 km of white sand lapped by crystal-clear waters. It’s like being in the Caribbean! In our opinion, one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. To get there, the hotel has private access right in the middle of the beach, so you can avoid the crowds. What’s more, “es refugi”, a beach house in the forest just a few minutes’ walk away, allows you to take a shower and cool off in the shade of the trees, which is much appreciated when the sun is beating down.

A contemporary, natural ambience

The Fontsanta hotel has created a space of calm and serenity in which to relax. Exposed stonework, minimalist decor, natural light and high ceilings characterize the interiors of the various rooms, suites and the Fontsanta villa. The ambience is also art-oriented, with murals and art installations created exclusively for the hotel.

Two pools, one of which is infinity, and Jacuzzis further enhance relaxation. Some rooms have private terraces, and the most luxurious room, a villa in its own right, has its own swimming pool.

Thermal spring water, the key to well-being

The hotel takes its name from the Roman “Font Santa”, a fountain with healing waters. Legend has it that the healing powers of this water were discovered during a severe epidemic that claimed the lives of many of the country’s animals, except those at the nearby Finca del Palmer.

The spa useswater from this renowned thermal spring, the one and only on the island, to enjoy all its benefits. This water, gushing to the surface at a temperature of 38°C, clears the respiratory tract, strengthens skin resistance, improves blood circulation and reduces inflammation.

All treatments are based on hydrotherapy, and most begin with a thermal bath that enriches the skin with a host of minerals. The spa also features a toning area with ice fountain, cold water cascade and sensory shower. The Finnish sauna, steam bath and hammam, with humidity levels approaching 100%, are also very popular. For further relaxation, there are two swimming pools with terraces, Jacuzzis in the garden and waterbeds.

Spa treatments and yoga

To make the most of the spa and its treatments, the hotel offers a range of wellness programs over three or five days. The three-day program includes two massages of varying intensity to relax muscles, a facial treatment, a revitalizing drink…

The five-day wellness program is perfect for releasing toxins, with four spa treatments, five healthy menus and a daily group yoga session.

Special mention for expectant mothers, who also have the opportunity to pamper their bodies during pregnancy with a program of five spa treatments focused on relaxing the whole body.

Balance and refinement in the restaurant

At the Fontsanta hotel, meals are a moment of delectation that honors a cuisine that is both healthy and refined. In an intimate, contemporary setting inside the restaurant or on the lovely terrace surrounded by nature, enjoy gourmet cuisine that reflects the island’s cultural codes and honors its seafood. Despite the chef’s passion for seafood, several vegetarian and even gluten-free options are available.
