We tested for you : The Four Seasons Bangkok

By Pascal Languillon, CEO Luxe Wellness Club.

I was lucky enough to stay at the Four Seasons Bangkok, a spectacular hotel on the banks of the Chao Phraya. With its grandiose architecture, peaceful atmosphere and unique wellness experiences, this place had some wonderful surprises in store for me… Here’s the story of a stay that will remain engraved in my memory.

There are cities that fascinate with their boundless energy, assumed chaos and almost electric vitality. Bangkok is one of them. It’s a vibrant metropolis where skyscrapers rub shoulders with centuries-old temples, floating markets come alive at dawn, and traffic jams become a veritable urban choreography. And yet, in the midst of all this hustle and bustle, there’s an oasis of serenity that seems to float on the water’s edge: the Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River.

An architectural masterpiece by Jean-Michel Gathy

Upon arrival, it’s impossible not to be struck by the scale and elegance of the architecture. The hotel was designed by the renowned architect Jean-Michel Gathy, already known for his iconic projects in Asia. Here, he has imagined a complex that stretches along the river, with a succession of basins and water features that naturally guide the eye towards the Chao Phraya.

Volumes are generous, lines clean, and natural light flows throughout. Marble, dark wood and touches of greenery create a contemporary yet warm atmosphere, in which you immediately feel enveloped. There are also numerous references to Thai art and culture, subtly integrated, giving the hotel a true local identity.

Rooms designed as cocoons

My room looked directly out over the river, and I have to say that it was this panorama that made the strongest impression on me. The contrast between the hustle and bustle of the city and the gentle reflections on the water is striking. The suites are spacious, often with large bay windows and private terraces. Inside, comfort is absolute: unrivalled softness of bedding, marble bathrooms with deep soaking tubs, discreet but present technology.

Every detail is designed to invite you to rest. I particularly appreciated the evening ritual, with a little attention left on the pillow, and the possibility of choosing from different types of pillow for optimal sleep. After a day spent wandering the bustling streets of Bangkok, returning to this cocoon was a real luxury.

A spectacular swimming pool

If there’s one place where I spent a lot of time, it was the main swimming pool. It stretches out like a mirror facing the river, surrounded by palm trees and perfectly aligned deckchairs. The effect is striking: you feel like you’re in a seaside resort, even though you’re in the heart of a bustling capital.

I loved lounging there at the end of the day, when the sun was setting and the sky was turning pink and orange. The hotel has created a truly breathtaking outdoor space, and this is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful urban pools I’ve ever experienced.

A beautiful spa dedicated to holistic well-being

Obviously, as founder of Luxe Wellness Club, I couldn’t miss the spa experience. And the Four Seasons Bangkok Spa is a destination in itself. Inspired by Asian wellness philosophies, it offers a holistic approach where the balance of body and mind is at the heart of every ritual.

I chose a treatment combining traditional Thai techniques with a contemporary approach to relaxation. The therapist was able to adapt the pressure, work on the tension points and create a real sense of reharmonization. The cabin, with its view over the garden, added a meditative dimension to the experience.

In addition to massages, the spa also offers personalized wellness programs, including yoga, meditation and even nutritional consultations. For fitness enthusiasts, the gym is equipped with the very latest technology, and coaches are available for tailor-made follow-up.

Gastronomic delights

Bangkok is renowned for its gastronomy, and the hotel is no exception. The Four Seasons Bangkok is home to several top-class restaurants. I fell in love with Yu Ting Yuan, a Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant. Here, Cantonese cuisine is sublimated by a contemporary setting and perfect execution.

Another highlight is dinner at Riva del Fiume Ristorante, offering refined Italian cuisine with panoramic river views. The contrast between Mediterranean flavors and tropical ambience is surprising, but works perfectly.

Finally, it’s impossible not to mention the BKK Social Club, recently ranked one of Asia’s best bars. Its art deco ambience, creative cocktails and energetic atmosphere make it a must for mixology enthusiasts.

Cultural immersion

What also sets this hotel apart is its commitment to the city’s cultural life. The Four Seasons Bangkok regularly collaborates with contemporary artists, and temporary exhibitions enliven the common areas. Walking through the corridors, I discovered works inspired by Thai culture, revisited with a modern approach. This artistic aspect adds an extra dimension to the stay. You don’t just come to rest or relax, you also nourish your spirit.

Exceptional service

Of course, a stay at the Four Seasons would not be complete without mentioning the service. Here, everything is fluid, natural and imbued with genuine human warmth. The staff seem to anticipate your needs even before you formulate them. I particularly appreciated the attention paid to families, with activities for children, but also the ability to personalize the experience according to each person’s desires. Every request is handled with efficiency and elegance, without ever becoming overly formal. You feel both taken care of and free to enjoy at your own pace.

Our feeling

My stay at the Four Seasons Bangkok was an enchanted interlude. In a city where intensity can sometimes be exhausting, to find a place that combines such luxury, well-being and serenity is a real blessing.

The hotel succeeds in being a complete urban resort, a lively cultural center and a haven of well-being all rolled into one. Whether you come for business, to explore the city, or simply to relax, it offers an unforgettable experience.
